Take a break in peace and serenity.
Daily obligations melt away in our relaxing outdoor bath.
Observe the passage of the seasons in the wilderness.

Izu-Shimogamo-spa is on the southernmost tip of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, known as the South Izu region.@During the Heian Period(late C8-C12), when the court culture was flourishing, this was where a number of top ranking noblemen found themselves after falling from grace within the political arena of Kyoto, then the nations capital. The area is famous for the abundance of hot spring waters, a feature reflected in the variety of outdoor baths available at the ryokan Ikona. Also abundant are the flowers and tree blossoms which repaint the 140,000 square feet natural garden afresh each new season at Ikona. The garden is well-known for its camellias which bloom in over 80 different varieties, and which lend their own special names to the guest rooms. Including cherry blossoms in early spring to azaleas, hydrangea , wisteria and river scenery that reminds you of old Japan. The passage of seasons is always especially poignant at the moment of changing seasons.
We welcome all who wish to experience the warm spirit of a Japanese inn.

Upcoming international destinations will include Mexico City, Japan and Australia. The Travel Guys had worked out a deal with Shaw TV in Shimoda City to produce one of the series of travel segments that has broadcasted multiple times each week, therefore hitting a wide-ranging audience.
